1. The first robot in history
It is said that in 400 BC, the greek mathematician Archytas who was a friend of Platon, was the first person to build a self-propelled artificial contraption. It was shaped like a dove and it is said that it flew about 200 meters propelled by steam. It is considered the first robot in history.

2. The first humanoid
The first humanoid robot in the world was called Elektro and was built by the american electrical company Westinghouse in 1939. It was a two-meter machine that had a 700-word recording to simulate establishing a conversation.

3. Mercenary robots
There are currently 4,000 robots serving in the US military, including the TALON bots, scouts for roadside bombs in Iraq, and the PackBots, which unsuccessfully scavenged Osama bin Laden's hideout in Afghanistan.

4. Robot designed by Leonardo Da Vinci
This robot was designed around the year 1495. The notes where the designs appeared were discovered in the year 1950. The robot is a warrior dressed in armor that is able to sit, move its neck, arms and jaw with certain movements, anatomically perfect.

5. The world's first cyborg
The first steps taken to connect the human nervous system with automated systems have been taken by Kevin Warwick, a scientist who is considered the first cyborg in the world, since he has implanted computer chips in his left arm. In this way, he can remotely operate doors and other devices.

6. The origin of the word "robot"
Did you know that the word robot comes from the Czech word "robota" which means forced labor? The term was first used by Karel Čapek in his play R.U.R.

7. R2 the first robot to tweet from space
One of the great novelties is its operation through telepresence by which a technician from the ground will be able to control its movements. He is currently inside the Destiny laboratory in space aboard the International Space Station (ISS) where he has been performing maintenance operations for several months and even tweeted from space: "Those electrons feel great! One small step for man, one giant leap for Tin Man."

8. ASIMO: a robot ahead of its time
Among the most extraordinary robots built in this century is ASIMO, a humanoid robot created by the Honda company that is capable of learning like a child. You can run, throw a ball, dance, perform fluid movements, and even carry on a conversation.

10. Homicidal robot
Did you know that the first known case of a homicidal robot occurred in 1981, when a robotic arm crushed a Japanese worker at the Kawasaki factory?

11. First Bionic Man
Rex, now known as Frank, is the first bionic man ever created with a full body. Scientists had already succeeded in creating separate artificial organs, but never before had a fully functional artificial body existed. This human clone cost a million dollars in total and was assembled in just three months with organs that were donated by 17 different developers.
